MeshBox CEO Dr. Peter Yan graduated from t Washington University in St. Louis. He was the Principle-Scientist of Enterprise Switching Business-Unit Broadcom in the United States and Senior Staff Engineer, America Wireless Access Labs Huawei Technologies. He is currently working with professors and doctoral students at the University of Houston to delve into the trading mechanisms and algorithms for transactive energy. Last week, Dr. Peter Yan flew from Dallas, USA to Singapore to attend the 3rd Technical Committee meeting of Smart Grid and Power Electronics Consortium of Singapore (SPECS).

SPECS is proposing a Universal Power Hub (UPH), which is targeted to microgrids to interconnect solar, batteries, and appliance loads.  SmartMesh is discussing collaboration with SPECS consortium companies to integrate MeshBox and Spectrum with the UPH. The UPH proposal will be submitted to National Research Foundation (NRF), and other funding opportunities. The long term plan is to develop a commercial Microgrid infrastructure for the SmartMesh HyperMesh Transactive Energy System for the 1 Billion people without access to electricity.

MeshBox can be used not only for network access, sharing, edge computing and fog storage in the last mile of the space ground integration network, but also as the IT infrastructure of transactive energy systems.

Here is our specific work this week:

  1. MeshBox system software V2.2.6 version, MeshBox APP Android and IOS V1.5 version. Turing WIFI related configuration optimization has been developed and tested; optimized paid Internet page, debugged, solved the problem of not being able to access the Internet after payment. The paid internet synchronization function in the Mesh group is under development.
  2. MeshBox industry user background prototype, login registration function development completed, basic device management distribution function development completed, device list and client list interaction design completed. Device list is divided into overview, load, management three tables and a configuration page. The client list has only one table that controls whether the client is allowed to connect to the network.

  1. Beta version of the engineering prototype was assembled last week and delivered. There are already 2 external antennas as candidates, but at the same time we continued to develop the antenna to a higher level.
  2. The documents submitted for CCC certification still needs some information about the power adapter and plastic case. The text preparation phase of the FCC certification began.

The specific work of marketing is as follows:

  1. On October 31, Peter Yan gave a speech, “HyperMesh Transactive Energy System with Solar PV for Footprint limited Use Cases” at the 4th Asian Conference on Energy, Power and Transportation Electrification (ACEPT), part of the Asian Clean Energy Summit (ACES), held with Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW).Over 10,000 people attended the event held in the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center. Peter took the chance to meet with representatives from Singapore government agencies such as Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Singapore Maritime Institute.  SMI will publish a Request for Proposal for electrification of Maritime Ports in April, 2020, and we will submit a proposal with 3D Solar from T3DP.

2. On November 1, SmartMesh adviser and MeshBox CEO Peter attended the 3rd Technical Committee meeting of Smart Grid and Power Electronics Consortium of Singapore (SPECS) of which SmartMesh is a member.

MeshBox adviser Henry Wang was invited to give a lecture entitled “The Space Ground Integration Network and HyperMesh Architecture” to graduate students at North University of China. The classroom that can accommodate hundreds of people was packed. Many graduate students stood and listened for more than one hour! MeshBox and SmartMesh will have in-depth cooperation with China’s universities, including teaching and research, which will bring MeshBox funds and resources. The cooperation has received strong support from the National Development and Reform Commission, and local governments are planning to use MeshBox for smart cities and smart tourism.
